Background
The original ship "Hermann Marwede" is the largest sea rescue cruiser of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). Since its commissioning in 2003, its crews have carried out more than 600 missions in the German Bight – for sailors, fishermen, ferry passengers and water sports on the world's busiest shipping lanes. More than 1,000 sea rescuers are deployed around 2,000 times a year on 60 rescue units - around the clock, in all weathers, financed exclusively by voluntary donations. Since its foundation in 1865, the DGzRS has rescued more than 86,000 people from distress at sea or freed them from danger. This model kit is not only a tribute to the ship itself, but also a recognition of the life-saving work of the sea rescuers on the North Sea and Baltic Sea. By assembling this model, you will immerse yourself in the world of sea rescuers on the North Sea and Baltic Sea and experience them up close.
